Special Notes Before Getting Started

The Novice-

No one is born knowing how to sew, but with time, practice,
patience, determination, and someone breaking down steps for
you, it is definitely possible to learn to become a very
skilled sewer. If you can sew a straight, curved or zig-zag
stitch and know how to operate your sewing machine, you will
be able to create beautiful, boutique-style shoes by following
our directions. If you do find that you have a question after
studying a step, and you are not sure what to do, we sincerely
hope you e-mail us at contactus@breakitdowndesign.com . It's
our desire to help you learn to create, sew and design
beautiful shoes.

The Seasoned Sewer-

We don’t think you’ll have any problem making the pattern or
shoes, however, if you do have any questions, suggestions or
comments, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to e-mail
us at contactus@breakitdowndesign.com. Thanks again for your
purchase, We hope you have fun and wish you a wonderful and
beautiful shoe-making experience!

Breaking Down The Steps

We have numbered each step within the pattern-making process
which needs to be followed concurrently. Each one is broken
down within a picture diagram. Underneath this is a more
thorough text description of the same step if needed.

Small-scaled Example:

Step 1

Place the cut out sole pattern on the pattern paper you’re using for your upper pattern and trace.

Step 2

Transfer pinky toe marking and side of big toe marking (black X’s) from sole pattern onto your upper pattern. Do not cut out yet.

Making the Most of the Layout

Sections, Steps and Topics

Sections can be recognized, because they are divided with squiggly lines:

Sections Hold Either a Topic or Step(s)

Sections holding topics: A topic section is used to group
together a particular topic. For example on this page the
squiggly lines are used to divide the different topics under
the subject, "Introduction". Topics include: "Special Notes
to You before Getting Started", Breaking Down the Steps",
and "Making the Most of the Layout".

Sections holding steps:  A section may hold anywhere
between one to five steps as seen below in small scale:

Step 1

Place the cut out sole pattern on the pattern paper you’re using for your upper pattern and trace.

Step 2

Transfer pinky toe marking and side of big toe marking (black X’s) from sole pattern onto your upper pattern. Do not cut out yet.

You can kind of think of the squiggly lines as turning the page.

It is recommended that you read through the entire section
before starting a step.
